SOUTH ORANGE VILLAGE WATER UTILITY ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

South Orange Village recently closed on a $2.7 million loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to implement Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). Because most of the South Orange Village water meters are approaching or past their useful lives, the township plans to implement this efficient technology. The AMI will collect water consumption data for accurate and timely bills and provide insight for water conservation and system management. The project will also facilitate the identification of lead service lines and expedite their eventual replacement.
