SEASIDE HEIGHTS BOROUGH LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Seaside Heights Borough Water Treatment Plant ("Borough") recently closed on a $4.5 million loan with the NJ Water Bank to repair electrical system and controls that have been damaged by flooding. The damaged equipment, including electrical conduit, conductors, transformers, and circuit breakers, will be replaced. In addition to addressing the impacted equipment, the facility back-up generator and three variable frequency drives and motors associated with the high service pumps will be installed and protected from future flood events.

To protect the equipment from future flooding, the borough proposes raising the equipment above established flood elevations and protecting the resources that cannot be raised by installing flood control measures with construction techniques. All critical infrastructure at the facility will be protected to maintain resiliency at the plant and protect public health and safety.
