PENNVILLE SA LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Pennsville Sewerage Authority recently closed on a $2,328,703 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to upgrade the treatment plant. Five of six deteriorating rotating biological contactors, originally installed in the 1980s, will be replaced. The remaining unit had been replaced within the last few years. Sludge thickening improvements will include rehabilitation of the sludge feed station, construction of a new sludge thickener tank and a new sludge discharge pump. This project will prevent the risk of future service interruption, chemical leaching, and the accidental discharge of insufficiently treated water into the Delaware River.
