NEWARK CITY LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The City of Newark recently closed on construction loan with the NJ Water Bank to evaluate and rehabilitate approximately 350 miles of small diameter (less than 22-inch) sewers made of various materials including Vitrified Clay, Concrete, Asbestos Cement, Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Corrugated Metal and PVC at various locations throughout the City of Newark. The work includes cleaning and lining, rehabilitation with cured-in-place lining and replacement of small diameter combined sewer systems (CSS) throughout the City. The work also includes the point repairs of existing sewers; cleaning and repair of manholes, and the repair and relocation of water mains, as needed. Also proposed is the rehabilitation of the Queen Ditch Diversion Structure which includes the demolition of existing beams, ladder, fence and other existing materials including deteriorated concrete. New work includes concrete rehabilitation, fabrication, and installation of aluminum plank grating, aluminum beams and all associated incidental work.
