CAMDEN CITY SEWER REPLACEMENT

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Camden City recently closed on a $6,550,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to rehabilitate several deficient sanitary sewer mains at various locations in the city. The age and poor condition of the system has resulted in significant infiltration and inflow problems, sewer cave-ins, sewer backups and flooding. These conditions pose a hazard to public health and a liability risk to the City of Camden. The increase in sewer collapses also leads to unplanned utility and street repairs driving up the cost of restoration. Some sewers are too fragile to clean and need to be replaced. The project includes the installation of approximately 112,700 linear feet of 12- 60-inch diameter PVC and reinforced concrete gravity sanitary, and approximately 2,310 linear feet of cured in place pipe liner.
