BOROUGH OF ALLENTOWN LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Borough of Allentown recently closed on a $4,600,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to rehabilitate its Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) which discharges effluent to Doctor's Creek. The proposed project includes rehabilitation of the existing primary and secondary clarifiers and modifications to the existing sludge holding tank. The project also includes the construction of a new electrical control room, laboratory, chemical storage, and public works garage. The elevation of the existing pump chambers and multi-chamber clarifiers will be raised, a driveway and parking lot constructed, and fencing and site lighting installed. Once completed and operational, the existing WWTP will be decommissioned and demolished.
