TRENTON CITY METER REPLACEMENT AND AMI PROJECT
The City of Trenton recently closed on a $20,000,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to replace all of Trenton Water Works water meters with advanced metering infrastructure ("AMI") over a seven-year period. The original aged meters were not fully capturing actual customer usage. AMI includes transmitting towers and transmitter equipped meters to improve efficiency in the system by tracking water consumption more accurately, preventing wasted water, encouraging water conservation, and improving billing efficiency.
