NJ TRANSPORTATION BANK AWARDS AN ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO HAWTHORNE BOROUGH

The Borough has been allocated $6,374,514 for the milling and resurfacing of various streets. Uneven manhole and inlet castings will be reset or reconstructed as needed. Antiquated inlet grates and curb heads will be replaced with bicycle safe and NJDEP approved versions. Existing trees that are uprooting curb, sidewalk, driveways and/or roads shall be removed, and the affected items shall be replaced. Construction is expected to begin in May 2024.

This allocation is based on the project's ranking on the Transportation Bank Project Priority List as supplied by NJ DOT as well as the project's readiness to proceed and is subject to the confirmation of project schedules.
