WILLINGBORO MUA PFOS TREATMENT SYSTEM UPGRADE LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Willingboro MUA recently closed on a $6,561,021 oan with the New Jersey Water Bank to upgrade its 2.0 MGD water treatment plant to remove PFOS/PFAS from Well 5A raw water. The upgrade will include the installation of four 12-foot diameter granular activated carbon vessels, associated piping, valves, and instrumentation. A new building will be installed with HVAC, a control panel and a generator to house the PFOS treatment system and a self-cleaning filter. A 50-micron self-cleaning filter system will also be installed upstream of the radium removal system to remove iron and suspended solids. The well pump will be upgraded to increase capacity and site work will include grading, excavation, and fence relocation.
