TWO RIVERS WATER RECLAMATION AUTHORITY NEW MAIN PUMP STATION

Two Rivers Water Reclamation Authority New Main Pump Station

Two Rivers Water Reclamation Authority ("TRWRA") recently closed on a $123,272,021 loan with the NJ Water Bank for a new main pump station. The 50-year-old sewer crossing under Pleasure Bay is internally corroded with cracks in the interceptor creating an increased risk of failure. The 50-year-old Main Pump Station (MPS) is a critical asset as it conveys all of the TRWRA sanitary sewer to its wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The MPS experienced significant structural damage to its wet well during Superstorm Sandy and has intermittently turned off under low flow conditions resulting in undesirable flow cycling into the WWTP.

The project proposes the construction of a new 54-inch Pleasure Bay Interceptor, extending the current 30-inch Monmouth Beach Interceptor to a new 50 million gallon per day Main Pump Station, installing a new force main to the Headworks/Blower Building and diverting supernatant flow to the new Main Pump Station.
