MENDHAM BOROUGH LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Borough of Mendham recently closed on a $3,076,700 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to finance planning and design activities for improvements to the Borough's Water Reclamation Facility and rehabilitation of the Borough's sanitary sewer system as a means of inflow/infiltration (I/I) reduction. The project includes new grit collection and handling equipment, oxidation ditch modifications, replacement of Motor Control Center No. 2, clarifier rehabilitation and various other miscellaneous improvements. The collection system consists of approximately 130,850 linear feet of sewer piping which is predominately 8-inch diameter vitrified clay pipe. A closed circuit TV program will also be conducted to determine the condition of the sewer piping and manholes, identify the sources of I/I, and assess the condition of the liners installed during the last I/I program.
