MANTUA MUA AUSTIN STREET LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Mantua Township Municipal Utilities Authority (MTMUA) recently closed on a $1,837,632 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank for improvements at the Austin Street Pump Station. The MTMUA has been evaluating the water and sewer infrastructure within the Township to identify equipment and components that are aging and need replacement. The improvements include the removal and replacement of the existing pump station and associated force main as well as upgrades to the SCADA system for improved monitoring and control. This project will protect local water quality from disturbances related to chemical leaching and accidental discharges, enhancing public health. In addition, maintenance time and costs will be reduced and system monitoring improved.
