JMEUC BIOSOLIDS FACILITY SITE WALL

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties (JMEUC) recently closed on a $28,380,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to construct reinforced flood walls around the biosolids facility. The installation includes flood gates for vehicular access and the construction of stormwater facilities to redirect stormwater to the proposed pumping station.

This project will protect the facility against future natural disasters reducing the risk of service loss and the release of untreated sewage into the environment. These improvements will incorporate resiliency and minimize potential damage to the facility's critical infrastructure.
