The North Bergen Municipal Utilities Authority (NBMUA) recently closed on a $1.2 million loan from the New Jersey Water Bank to purchase four specialized vehicles essential for maintaining its Combined Sewer Overflow solids and floatables control netting chambers. This investment supports the NBMUA's compliance with Federal CSO Control Policy, New Jersey Administrative Code (N.J.A.C.) 7:14A-11, and the Authority's Long Term Control Plan.
The vehicles will be used to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the netting chambers, which are critical for capturing solids and floatables before they enter receiving waters. Regular maintenance of these systems is a key component in meeting environmental regulatory requirements and improving water quality in the region.
