HACKENSACK CITY LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The City of Hackensack recently closed on a $14,630,000 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank for the completion of a long-term control plan and the separation of the combined sewer system.

The project includes preparation, creation, and implementation of the Long-term Control Plan (LTCP) as well as CSO separation for sections of James, Clay and Court Streets. Existing drainage structures will be replaced with new separated drainage systems that incorporate inlets to increase stormwater storage capacity and reduce the frequency of flooding and CSO discharging events. This project anticipates future sewer separation in the region to be included in the final conclusions of the LTCP.
