BOONTON PLANT CENTRIFUGE LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority (JCMUA) recently closed on a $1,458,905 loan with the NJ Water Bank for the installation of a new centrifuge unit which is a device that rotates containers about a fixed axis and separates material by mass inertia. An existing cross screw conveyor will be extended, and a new screw-type load out conveyor for sludge disposal will be installed. The existing dewatering polymer feed system will be replaced and instrumentation for a new distribution control system will be installed to identify potential improvements. This project will provide reliability for the sludge dewatering and disposal system which will minimize the need for shutdowns.
