BERGEN COUNTY UA EDGEWATER WPCF CONVERSION TO LITTLE FERRY WPCF PUMPING STATION

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Bergen County Utilities Authority recently closed on a $75,000,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to consolidate the Edgewater Little Ferry Service areas by converting the Edgewater Water Pollution Control Facility ("WPCF") to a pumping station and diverting its service to the Little Ferry WPCF. The existing Edgewater WPCF will be replaced with a new pump station, a force main will be constructed, and influent flow will be diverted to the Little Ferry WPCF for treatment.

By diverting its service area to the Little Ferry WPCF, the BCUA can improve the quality of discharge to the Hudson River. In addition, the consolidation of local government will reduce the cost of wastewater treatment for its customers.
