POINT PLEASANT BEACH BOROUGH ROUTE 35 WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT

Point Pleasant Beach Borough recently closed on a $7.6 million loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to replace approximately 14,500 linear feet of aging water main. Much of the water main along Route 35 is believed to date back to the 1920s. Replacing this infrastructure is critical to ensuring reliable delivery of safe drinking water for customers along the corridor. The project will bring the system into compliance with the Water Quality Accountability Act (WQAA), which requires Asset Management Plans (AMPs) to include water mains with a minimum diameter of eight inches. The existing undersized pipes will be replaced with new 8-, 10-, and 12-inch diameter water mains.
