The City of Newark recently closed on a $11.4 million loan from the NJ Water Bank to construct two additional filters that were part of the original 1986 design for the Pequannock Water Treatment Plant. The new filters will be identical to the existing ones and will improve the plant's performance, reliability, and resiliency. This project will not increase the plant's discharge flow or water allocation.
