The Manchester UA recently secured a $500,000 loan from the New Jersey Water Bank to rehabilitate the Heights Storage Tank. These upgrades are critical to improving water quality and reducing the risk of regulatory violations. In 2021, the system experienced multiple exceedances of total trihalomethanes (TTHMs), including a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) violation. Planned improvements, such as installing a mixing system to reduce water age and TTHM formation, were previously delayed due to lack of funding. With financing now in place, the project has become a top priority.
