GIBBSBORO BOROUGH EDGEHILL ROAD SEWER REHABILITATION
Gibbsboro Borough recently closed on a $786,409 loan with the NJ Water Bank for upgrades to the Edgehill Road residential collector servicing 38 single family homes. The sewer system includes eleven brick manholes, 2,000 linear feet of terra cotta pipe, and 38 service laterals. About 30 of these laterals have cleanouts at the curb for maintenance access.
A televised inspection of the 8-inch main revealed severe tree root intrusion, offset joints, lateral protrusions, and broken piping, requiring numerous spot repairs. The Borough proposes to address these issues by targeting repairs and slip lining the entire pipe length using the cured-in-place (CIPP) lining.
These improvements will reduce inflow and infiltration (I&I) and prevent future sanitary sewer surcharges.
