BRICK TOWNSHIP MUA BACKUP GENERATORS

The Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority (BTMUA) recently closed on a $2.1 million loan from the New Jersey Water Bank to replace emergency generators at the Riverside, Drum Point, and Baby Harbor Pump Stations.

Backup generators are essential to keep wastewater systems functioning during storms and power outages, preventing sewer overflows that can release harmful pollutants into local waterways. By upgrading aging equipment, BTMUA is improving system reliability, protecting public health, and strengthening the community's resiliency during emergencies.

Financed through the New Jersey Water Bank, a joint initiative of the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, this project demonstrates how low-cost financing can provide essential infrastructure improvements while saving ratepayers money and supporting long-term environmental goals.
