Bayshore RSA ("BRSA") recently closed on a $5.1 million loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to rehabilitate and modernize four secondary clarifiers originally constructed in the 1970s. This investment will replace aging sludge removal equipment, including baffles, weirs, and critical electrical and control systems, with more efficient, reliable components. Structural concrete repairs will further enhance the longevity and resilience of the units.
The project includes a strategic evaluation of three clarifier technologies to identify the most effective long-term solution for sludge removal and overall process efficiency. These upgrades will reduce maintenance demands, improve energy and operational efficiency, and support regulatory compliance, all while helping BRSA maintain its commitment to environmental protection and cost-effective service delivery for ratepayers.
