The Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority (ACMUA or Authority) recently closed on a $5.2 million loan from the New Jersey Water Bank to fund critical security enhancements at its water treatment plant. These improvements include upgraded fencing, enhanced surveillance systems, and secure access controls, all designed to protect the city's drinking water infrastructure from potential threats and unauthorized access. By investing in these proactive measures, ACMUA is strengthening the resilience of its water system, ensuring the continued delivery of safe, clean drinking water to the residents and businesses of Atlantic City. This project reflects the Authority's commitment to public health and safety while aligning with state and federal efforts to bolster the security of vital public utilities.
