TWO RIVERS WATER RECLAMATION AUTHORITY LOAN CLOSING

Two Rivers Water Reclamation Authority recently closed on a $2,952,465 loan with the NJ Water Bank to construct a new 54" Pleasure Bay Interceptor. The 48-inch interceptor crossing Pleasure Bay from Oceanport to Monmouth Beach has cracks and alignment depressions throughout its length. The line does not leak but has been identified as a critical vulnerability. Loss of sewage into the river, if the pipe were to fail, is estimated to be in excess of 700 million gallons before a bypass could be constructed. The project includes extending the current 30" Monmouth Beach Interceptor to a new 50 MGD Main Pump Station and installing a new force main to the Headworks/Blower Building. In addition, supernatant flow will be diverted to the new Main Pump Station. The existing Supernatant and Main Pump Stations will be demolished.
