KEARNY TOWN LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Kearny Town recently closed on a $12,123,577 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to install a new pump station to relieve frequent flooding after heavy rainfall events.

The area of Dukes Street near Schuyler Avenue repeatedly experiences significant drainage problems. The area frequently floods during and after heavy rainfall events causing undue burden to the residential community west of Schuyler Ave as well as a blend of commercial warehousing and industrial establishments in the low-lying area east of Schuyler Ave. The proposed project includes construction of a new stormwater pumping station at Dukes Street, a tide gate replacement at Franks Creek, and stormwater pump station rehabilitations at Harrison, Garfield, and John Hay Avenues.
