HIGHTSTOWN BOROUGH 010 LOAN

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Hightstown Borough recently closed on a $1,433,796 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank for Water Main Improvements. The 4-inch water main on First Avenue between Center Street and Outcalt Street is insufficiently sized to service the residential properties in that area of the Borough. The 4-inch main will be replaced with an 8-inch main on First Avenue between Center Street and Outcalt Street. The 8-inch water main on Forman Avenue from Stockton Street to the dead end will be extended. The existing 8-inch main on Stockton Street is older and known to have tuberculation which has constricted the flow. Cleaning and relining the main will increase flow through the vital line in the water distribution system. Because there is no water main on Forman Avenue, the residential properties along the Avenue share a water service line that doesn't provide adequate pressure for water usage or fire safety. The installation of an 8-inch water main will provide improved pressure and flow to the lots along Forman Avenue. All water services will be transferred to the new or cleaned mains to provide better service to the local users.
