BUENA BOROUGH MUA LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Buena Borough MUA recently closed on a $1,250,000 construction loan with the NJ Water Bank to plan and design improvements to sanitary sewer pump stations 1, 2 and 3. The work includes structural, mechanical and electrical component upgrades and the installation of flow meters at each pump station. Grit removal systems will be upgraded at pump station 1.

Due to aging components of the existing grit chamber and pump stations, improvements and upgrades are necessary to continue operating within the New Jersey Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit requirements. The added flow meters will be helpful to identify and quantify extraneous flows and the pumps will be replaced with premium efficiency motors, resulting in energy savings.
