PERTH AMBOY LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The City of Perth Amboy (City) recently closed on a $350,000 construction loan with the NJ Water Bank to improve the Second Street Pumping Station that was impacted during Superstorm Sandy. The City proposes to relocate offices from the first floor to the second floor, relocate all essential equipment to the second floor including three variable frequency drives, and replace the existing three pumps with dry pit submersible pumps. In addition, the City proposes to modify the bar screen/wet well room, install dry flood proofing structures at various openings of the pumping station, and relocate the emergency standby generator and heating system. The capacity of the pumps will not increase as a result of the proposed improvements.
