MIDDLESEX COUNTY UTILITIES AUTHORITY LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Middlesex County Utilities Authority (MCUA) recently closed on a $17,800,000 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to complete rehabilitation of its central treatment plant, originally constructed in the 1970s. The project consists of structural and electrical rehabilitation of the two primary tank traveling bridges; the replacement of the collector mechanisms in the remaining three final clarifier units including recoating two of the newer (1990s) mechanisms; and the replacement of the collector mechanisms in the remaining five gravity thickener units. This project will allow the Authority to continue to meet the Plant's effluent water quality permit requirements.
