NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time
Stafford Township recently closed on a $5 million loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to support critical wastewater and stormwater infrastructure improvements.
The project includes the removal and replacement of approximately 8,580 linear feet of aging asbestos concrete pipe (ACP) sanitary sewer mains with new SDR-35 PVC sewer mains, along with the replacement of existing sanitary sewer manholes and approximately 350 sanitary sewer laterals. Construction will require dewatering and bypass pumping to maintain system operation during the work.
By replacing deteriorated ACP sewer mains, the project will repair leaks, prevent groundwater infiltration, and reduce the risk of sewage seepage into nearby estuaries, helping to protect local water quality. In addition, storm system improvements will mitigate excessive runoff, further improving environmental conditions throughout Stafford Township.
