RARITAN TOWNSHIP CASE BLVD. LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDOT Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Raritan Township recently closed on a $377,550 loan with the New Jersey Transportation Bank for the reconstruction of Case Boulevard which carries approximately 6000 vehicles a day during average daily traffic. The roadway is in poor condition due to it age and traffic load.

Serving a growing industrial area on River Road and the Township Public Works, Case Boulevard also serves a large residential area and the JP Case School located across the USNJ highway 202. In addition, it also serves a new development of 297 residential units which is under construction and will include single family houses, condos, and affordable apartments.

A full reconstruction is proposed, milling 12" of the roadway and installing 5" of dense graded aggregate, 5" of base course and 2" of surface course. In addition, all the catch basin grates and heads will be replaced with bicycle safe grates. The catch basin interiors will be repaired and refined, and all curb ramps have been designed to be ADA Compliant. Curb extensions will conform with Township standards and all traffic control, stripes and signage will comply with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
