MERCHANTVILLE PENNSAUKEN WATER COMMISSION PFAS TREATMENT LOAN

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Merchantville Pennsauken Water Commission ("MPWC") recently closed on a $8,110,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to address excessive levels of PFAS and PFOS at its National Highway PFC Plant. These chemicals are commonly used in a wide range of industrial processes and are found in many consumer products where they can penetrate the water supply and affect drinking water quality. To comply with new regulations passed to address this issue, the MPWC will install advanced oxidation and granular activated carbon (GAC) systems.
