The Toms River MUA recently closed on a $3,100,000 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank for sanitary sewer rehabilitation and construction. Regular ongoing inspections have revealed that continued maintenance and upgrades are necessary to prevent catastrophic failure that could result in detrimental impacts to surrounding water bodies that feed into the Barnegat Bay. The project includes cured-in-place relining of approximately 4,255 linear feet of gravity sewers between 8- and 36-inches in diameter and approximately 16 manholes. Approximately 1,020 linear feet of 16-inch diameter gravity sewers are not amenable to CIPP relining or other rehabilitative measures and they will be replaced. A manhole on Windsor Avenue will be replaced as well as 15 linear feet of 48-inch diameter asbestos-concrete pipe.
