PERTH AMBOY LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The City of Perth Amboy recently closed on a $1,651,532 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to paint the backwash tank at the water treatment plant and to provide standpipe maintenance repairs in the city's distribution system. The backwash tank is a critical component of the treatment plant as it provides the only way to backwash the eight pressure filters and no maintenance has been done to the tanks since their construction in 1998. The standpipe provides pressure relief when the reservoir is out of service for maintenance. This project addresses various deficiencies to prevent further damage and the possibility of having to shut down the plant.
