CAMDEN CITY LOAN CLOSING

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The City of Camden recently closed on a $5,177,115 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank for the rehabilitation of approximately 28 regulator chambers at various locations within the City. The sewer outfalls covered under this project are not functioning as designed due to sediment buildup and varying degrees of deterioration and disrepair. The combined sewer overflow pipes are obstructed at their points of discharge compromising the City's ability to efficiently handle combined sewage draining. The resulting inability to drain from the collection system contributes to street flooding and the potential to overload the capacity of the interceptor sewer conveyance and the wastewater treatment plant.
